The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is the only public nonprofit charity in the United States that is focused exclusively on foster care adoption. Right now, more than 120,000 children are waiting to be adopted from foster care in the United States. The Foundation is working against the clock to find adoptive homes for these children before they age out of foster care at age 18 or 21 without a permanent family. With nowhere to turn for support, many are at a higher risk of negative outcomes, such as homelessness, unemployment and early, unplanned parenting, which can happen to a child who can't go home and simply say, "I need some help."

Your participation in this raffle event will help the Foundation to find forever families for more youth at risk of aging out of foster care — before it’s too late. Learn more steps you can take to help at davethomasfoundation.org. Thank you for your support.

Success Story

Zach spent five long years in and out of foster care with no permanent place to call home. He didn’t get to experience holidays or celebrate his birthday. “I always had this empty feeling,” Zach recalls. “Every day felt like a lost cause.”

Every year, more than 20,000 youth, like Zach, age out of foster care in the United States without the support of a forever family. Fortunately, Zach was adopted when he was 11 years old through the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program.

Now 19, Zach is thriving in college on a full scholarship.
Sadly, Zach’s older brother was not so fortunate.

“My brother aged out of the system and never finished high school. He doesn’t have anybody to look out for him and isn’t taking care of himself. He just doesn’t have the guidance that I have now,” Zach shared.

Because of the Foundation’s generous supporters, Zach has a bright future. He is studying to become a teacher…just like his mom

We hope you will take a few minutes to watch Zach’s story.

Together, we can change the journey for more young people in foster care, like Zach, who are counting on us more than ever. Thank you.
