Please Join Us In Our Fight Against Ocular Melanoma
If you cannot make it to our Lemonade Stand in Williamsburg, Va on Sunday, 9/3/2017, but would still like to donate to find a cure for this terrible disease, this is the place for you!
All Proceeds go to CUREOM
Some background on how we learned about this disease...we met Sam Buirski just over 6 years ago. She is the mom of three - 2 swimmers and a tennis player. Not long after meeting her, she was diagnosed with this rare form of melanoma that attacks the eye and, even if treated, can metastasize to other parts of the body. Within weeks of being diagnosed she made the extremely courageous decision to have her eye removed. I am a former soldier and do not take using the word courageous lightly but this was one of the bravest things I have ever seen someone go through in person. Two days after surgery she was back on the pool deck cheering for her child swimmers. She has faced her post surgery challenges with courage, humor and determination. She is doing her best to raise awareness about this rare from of cancer and this is our families' way of helping and teaching our kids about working for a cause.
Again, THANK YOU, for making the lemonade stand part of your Labor Day activities and for your generosity! Eye On A Cure!!
