Comment: John and I have been happily settled in Austin, since 1986. We were married our senior year and just marked our 50th anniversary. We’re grateful for every moment and take nothing for granted. We have a wonderful daughter who lives nearby and makes us proud every day, and we love staying in touch with many of our old friends and classmates. We are so excited about reconnecting with many others at the upcoming reunion! |

My life update: First and most important in my life is my relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has shown me Unconditional Love, Forgiveness, Mercy, Grace, Blessings and more…Praise God I am one of His children. My prayer is Everyone can have a personal relationship with Him. Now Here Goes: Wes and i have been married 44 years. We have 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law and 2 grandchildren. I have been truly Blessed! We have lived in Prosper for over 10 years and love it. Wes started out in the oil business after we married and then began his career as a home builder. Because of his work, we have lived in the following places in Texas: Dallas, Snyder and Midland/Odessa; (where Wes was in the oil business). Home building has taken us to Arlington:, Sparks, Maryland:, back to Tx living in Cedar Hill, Plano, Frisco and now Prosper. While living in Sparks, MD. in the late 1980’s we enjoyed the most beautiful Fall Season ever. It was in this hilly town that this Tx girl was really challenged, driving wise! When it started snowing and then snowed, snowed and more snow, the driving challenge was real. I’m pleased to say that we never had a wreck while living there. We have enjoyed everywhere we have lived and have made many friends. After we moved back to Tx, from Maryland, I worked, part-time, in the medical field; GP’s office for 10 years. I really enjoyed it. After that I worked part-time with our family business, Summit Christian Academy, for 15 years. Summit catered to parents who wanted their children to be home schooled. Summit was founded by our late father, Melvin Hassell. But, my favorite job of all was/is being a homemaker. Wes and I fell in love with Fredericksburg, Tx, many, many years ago. We travel there as often as we can. Staying at Rose Hill Manor, now Rose Hill Retreat, is always absolutely wonderful and a favorite of ours. Fredericksburg is our 2nd home. Snow Ski trips with our sons to places in NM and CO have allowed precious memories. Then we discovered Cruising in the latec1990’s. Our sons, also enjoy cruising as much as we do. If we are leaving the USA, it is our favorite way to travel. We have visited so many wonderful countries. I’m sorry I can’t be at the 50th Reunion, but I know you all will have a wonderful time making more precious memories. Prayers for each of you. Until next time………???????? |
