I have several career changes but an opportunity at Methodist Health System brought me back to Oak Cliff in 1999.



Retirement is imminent but I can’t decide between beach bum or running the country.



I adopted my two daughters when they were 6 and 11 from China. Both have made their homes and careers in Oak Cliff.



I’ve love seeing all the changes to our neighborhood and having childhood friends here makes it feel like a charmed place.

Comment: I retired from health care last year after 25 years. Prior to that I married to Rick Hejny in 1975 for 30 years and raised two daughters, Kristen (1981) and Kari (1984). I am a proud Nana to 4 grandchildren, Luke (11), Graham (7), Grace (4) and Lexi (1). We lost Rick in 2021 from COVID, but know we’ll see him again in heaven. I'm married to my husband current husband, Ed, is also retired and is my travel partner. We enjoy taking our RV to new places and cruising the Caribbean. Our favorite destination was Hawaii so far. In my free time, I like to decorate, go shopping, and most of all, spending time with my grandchildren. My daughters are entrepreneurs, one a real estate agent, and one a "retired" teacher who now is an equities/currency trader. I consider every day a blessing from God, and don't take a moment for granted.
