My beautiful sister Alana Canessa was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.  As you can imagine, this was a shocking and overwhelming diagnosis to her family and friends. Following many initial tests, we learned the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, sternum, liver and brain.  Alana spent Christmas in the hospital recovering from emergency surgery to remove a golf ball size tumor from her brain.  This tumor was putting tremendous pressure on her brain and as has caused extreme pain and has led to difficulty with memory and engaging in daily activities that were once so routine.

Alana needs as much support as we possibly can give her! Her family is committed to trying to alleviate some of her burdens, be them household, financial, nursing care etc.  Her treatment is going to be a long road and as much as everyone's prayers have helped and are much appreciated and needed, we also need help financially to assist with medical expenses and with her daily living needs.

Alana’s treatment will consist of radiation therapy and chemotherapy, and she will need lots of care following these treatments.  The goal is to kick the cancer, get her back to the best health possible, and give her the quality of life she deserves.

For those of you who know Alana well, you will know that it is difficult for her to ask for anything.  She is a giver, and has given so much to all of us I hope we can all give back to help relieve some of her  financial burden so she can concentrate on fighting this huge cancer battle.  She has worked her entire life to provide a loving home for herself and daughter Danielle, and your contribution will help her continue to do so.

The upcoming weeks and months are going to be a tough fight and we are going to need help from as many friends and family as possible. We are so very grateful for the support everyone has already shown, but this is just the beginning of this cancer journey, and we need you now more than ever!   Keep the prayers coming, and thanks for your love and support.   –Eileen
