Shan was my best friend in high school. We lost touch but reconnected years later. She had an amazing art career with her work in museums all over the world including the Smithsonian. Her beautiful baskets told stories of the huge injustices of the American Indian. Her passion for art and her heritage was there in our high school days. Gone way too soon. I can only imagine what more she would have achieved.
