Comment: I moved to Virginia in 1979 to work at Innisfree Village, a lifespan community for disabled adults. I got married and earned a MSW in 1984 and after retiring early from my profession as a social worker to take care of our family, I took on various part-time jobs, including landscaping and administrative work with a nonprofit. I also volunteered and worked part-time with the Girl Scouts as an adult trainer and cooked for a week each summer at a local Quaker Camp that our daughters attended. More recently I’ve spent the last decade as a Charlottesville Area Tree Steward, Rivanna Master Naturalist and amateur ornithologist. I still take photographs, contribute to Citizen Science and spend much of my day outdoors in wonder about the science and beauty of nature.
