Karen Patricia Judge Cummings, 56, of New City passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2013.
Born December 14, 1956, in Oak Ridge Tenn., Karen grew up in Latham and graduated from Shaker High School in 1975. She attended SUNY Binghamton and graduated from SUNY Albany with a degree in Mathematics in 1979. Her work began in the educational field as a teacher at a Catholic girls school in Westchester County, a profession that she revisited in later years as a teacher’s aide in the Clarkstown school district. Karen’s primary career focus was with IBM in the New York City – New Jersey region as a successful marketing systems engineer; was an exceptional salesperson and was recognized with numerous sales awards.
Karen enjoyed outside activities such as running, golfing and camping. She was wonderfully creative, excelling in cooking, sewing and crafting. Karen was a loving, caring and generous person who will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Karen is survived by her husband, Paul, and children, Emily Rose Cummings (16)) and Ryan Francis Cummings (14). She is also survived by her mother, Patricia A. Judge of Latham, and sisters, Linda Judge Junco of Ballston Lake and Theresa Judge Laver (Chris) of Halfmoon Bay, Calif. Karen was predeceased by her father, Dr. Frank D. Judge of San Jose, Calif. Karen also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Tyler Francis Junco(godson), and Spencer Cole Junco of Clifton Park; Brittney Kaye Laver of San Diego. Harrison Charles Laver (godson) and Paige Francis Laver of Halfmoon Bay, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed by many relatives on the Cummings side.
A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine Church in New City on Saturday October 26, 2013, at 10 a.m.
