Ed joined the United States Air Force and became an Aircraft mechanic. He served eight years in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in Fresno, California. After serving his country, he gained employment Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical in the bay area of California.
He met Roynita L. Fuller from El Cerrito, California on May 12, 1973. They were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Daniels II on October 7,1978. In 1985, they completed their family with Rekina Martinque Daniels.
After retiring, Ed and his family moved back to California where he was able to enjoy one of his passions of his life, paying Chess. Ed found teaching young children how to play chess was a way to keep them focused in school and off the streets after school. The school district found that the attendance of students increased and the behavior issues decreased on the days he taught chess. he wanted chess to be a part of peoples lives all over the country, so he created and sold chess sets and accessories.
Ed was a wonderful husband who enjoyed giving his wife everything her heart desired. Her eyes would light up whenever he walked into the room and his smile would dim the sun. There was a loving, trusting, bond between the two of them. As a father, he taught his children to be a respected young man and woman. His advise has served his children well and will always be remembered.
He is survived by his children, three sisters and three brothers who will miss him dearly.
