ROSS S. MILLIGAN, 53 ROCKFORD - Ross S. Milligan, 53, of Rockford entered into eternal life Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010. Born May 4, 1956, in Chicago, the son of Samuel R. and Irene (Gruze) Milligan. Graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 1974. Attended Western Illinois University. Retired member of Northwest Fire Protection District in Rockford. Former police officer with the Rockford Park District. Emergency room technician at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Ross had a passion for the fire service, even after an early retirement due to the complications of diabetes. He enjoyed traveling, collecting and trading fire memorabilia and patches with his two brother firefighters, Kent Hulett and Lanny Wong. He had great neighbors who always helped him live in a productive and independent manner. Ross never let his disabilities affect his positive attitude and zest for life. He was a loving, caring friend, neighbor and son, who will be sorely missed by all lives he touched. Survivors include many family members and friends. An eternal thanks to friends, Ron and Trish Aurand, Brian and Trudy Anderson, Jim and Rose Maurer, Dave and Linda Parlapiano, Lewis and Nadia Angeles and their families. Predeceased by parents; and "the best damn dog ever," Sabby. Ross's family and friends would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Health Care and Rockford Healthcare, for their great care and friendship. Ross told his friends shortly before his passing to tell everyone, "I will miss them, love them, and life has been a Hell of a ride."
