Kathy Griffin Gulbrantson
2004-02-19
Kathy Gulbrantson, 49, of Rockford passed away in her sleep while in University Hospital, Edmonton, Canada, on Feb 19, 2004. Born in Woodstock, duaghter of Dick and Gladys Griffin. She spent her formative years with her family in Rockford. Kathy graduated from Guilford High School in 1974 and worked at Marion Health and Safety for a number of years. She married Kent in 1977, and they soon moved to Winnipeg and were employed by Winnipeg Photo Ltd, where the Winnipeg Photo "family" was a big part of her life.
Kathy was a spirited, unique individual who was genuinely outgoing and the first to befriend eveyone she met. Few were aware of the complexity of her lifelong heart condition, as while being treated, there were doubts whether she'd reach her 10th birthday. With a positive attitude and determination, she focused on the joy and fun of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Kent of 26 years of Winnipeg; father, Dick (Teddi) Griffin of Kenosha, WI; brothers and sisters, Pat (Brian) Johnson of Roscoe, Mike (Vicki) Griffin of Atlanta, GA, Jim Griffin and Jerry (fiance Lori) Griffin, all of Rockford, Barb (Rob) Tithof of Ogden Dunes, IN, Tom (Cindy) and Rich (Roberta) Griffin, all of Rockford. Predeceased by her mother, Gladys.
Inturnment in Winnebago Cemetery.
