Greetings from Silver Spring Maryland. A semi-retired Fed, I am happily married with three kids and five grandchildren. Besides family in Maryland, Florida and the Pacific Northwest, we have extended family in Canada, Western Europe and Africa. I have had some fascinating, challenging and rewarding experiences managing development and humanitarian assistance programs in Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire), Guinea, Ghana, Madagascar, Nigeria and Georgia (Caucasus). This involved everything from promoting vaccinations for children to overseeing delivery of food relief, helping small businesses to grow, improving education for children and more. On a personal level, my family and I were able to explore the beauty and flora and fauna of Africa (including exotic Madagascar), and the majesty and history of Western and Central Europe, and even parts of Asia. In my spare time now, I am woodworking, reading, hiking (though not enough) and, traveling (conditions permitting). |

Last updated 1 month agoComment: I'm still not married, but I am involved with some of my relatives and their kids. I've lived in Santa Cruz, Ca for 40 years or so. I've had an interesting life. Owned a teen night club on MI for a time. Started a number of business's in the software, hardware, and real estate fields. Did some car racing. Went back to college in the mid-90's and got a degree in film. Was a semi-pro musician through college. Moved to Bali in the mid-90's to study music. Started rock climbing in my 50's along with acrobatic yoga. At this point I am still climbing, still working, and figuring out how to retire. |
