Matt Chambers

Deceased Date: 2016-04-02
Leland Rolling - April 2nd, 2022
I met Matt in Lucas Valley in 1967, shortly after my Mom and Dad bought our house on Idylberry. My Mom needed a sitter for me on occasion, and Liz Chambers had a bit of a daycare service. We became lifelong best friends. We spent countless hours, days doing stupid shit, being idiots, drooling over girls, underage drinking (amongst other things lol), being complete nerds. And I loved the guy... and his parents too (Liz and Milt). Most wonderful people ever put on this earth. We went to Dixie, Miller Creek and TL together. Matt became a bus driver for a bit, then went in the Army for a few years then attended ASU. He joined his Dads architectural design firm in Palm Springs and met a beautiful young lady, Charlotte, who was from England. They moved back to the UK together, married and had three beautiful daughters. Matt worked in technology (CAD design software) in England for about a decade. He and Charlotte split and he eventually moved back to Washington State, where his parents on one of three brothers lived. He worked for his brother in agriculture. Matt loved his girls so very much. They were his life. It was extremely hard for him to be so far away from them - they stayed in England - and cherished their visits immensely. He also went to England to visit them. I know Matt would have enjoyed visiting with y'all. He cared about all of you, and spoke very fondly of his TL days (other than getting thrown over the hood of his car by one of the twins from the class of '81 lol)

Mark Fruchey

Deceased Date: 1995-12-14
From Lloyd Golubski (class of '81) on August 27th, 2012

Despite this news coming after the reunion, thought you should know that Mark died in December 1995 at 31, of complications from AIDS. He was thoroughly involved in theater and worked for Santa Rosa acting companies. Santa Rosa Players threw him a grand, touching memorial on their wide stage. It was a full house.

Yeah, I remember Mark as Oliver Twist at Miller Creek, and other memorable roles at TL and beyond. He was an actor, singer, fantastic dancer, choreographer and designer, and also directed at Santa Rosa Players. I fondly recall his impish grin and dancing eyebrows; his musical, boyish voice and terrific, sometimes wicked sense of humor; his energy, kindness and unlimited generosity. S. Mark (what he called himself later -- Mark was his middle name) has been missed.
Kelly Haegglund - May 24th, 2022
. . . Mark and I sat by each other in an eighth grade science class. A boy (also named Kelly) sat near us. The kid made a point of telling me that "Kelly" was actually a boys' name and that it meant "warrior". Mark shot me a look and a devilish grin. He gleefully addressed that kid as "Warrior" for the rest of the school year.
Kelly Haegglund - May 24th, 2022
I remember having classes with Mark at Miller Creek Middle School. I always made a point of sitting near him because he was incredibly smart and had a wicked sense of humor. He often had me chuckling at the things he'd say under his breath during class. I'm very sorry to hear that he's gone.

Justin Gregoire

Birth Date: 1964-08-13
Deceased Date: 2014-09-05
Justin Martin Gregoire showed up on Thursday August 13th, 1964. He was the last of three kids. He was always a cheery soul, known as 'Happy Jack' (he went by Jack until one day in 2nd grade, and wouldn't respond to it ever again). His gift of gab was apparent from an early age, much to the chagrin of his siblings. Life progressed normally until his 'friend', a brain tumor on his hypothalamus, showed up prior to his 16th birthday. We nearly lost him a few times over the years of surgeries and treatments. From then on he was an eternal adolescent, amazing all with his exuberance and positive outlook throughout. He spread Joy and Love to any and all, always seeing the best in every one. He left us on Friday September 5th, 2014, and the world became a little less bright. On his birthday last month we all celebrated his 50th, a grand affair where he held court with us all, he was spry and glorious, decked out in his signature Purple. That is the Justin we shall always remember and cherish.

Mike Pitman

Birth Date: 1963-09-20
Deceased Date: 2017-04-25
From John Kelly - 4/26/2017

We lost Mike Pitman on April 25, 2017. My longtime friend of more than 38 years. He was a big brother to me. Bigger than life in every way. A legendary wild man! But those who really knew him knew that he was a loyal, kind hearted man. If he was your friend he was all in. He'd give you the shirt off his back and never ask for anything in return. So many memories! We stood side by side in a few fights (ok, maybe I was slightly behind him). Toe to toe a couple times too. Over the years we played football together. Hitch hiked through Mexico with our surf boards. Fell down the mountains in Tahoe, and ran wild in San Diego. I never considered that he wouldn't always be there at my side - even from hundreds of miles away. I just can't believe he's gone. I'm so bummed!!!! Rest in peace my friend. The world is a much emptier place without you.
