
Lucille Young-Montgomery

Mother Lucille Montgomery was born January 6, 1909 to Mr. and Mrs. Hosea Tucker in Washington County, Hamilton, Mississippi.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late James Young. To this union six children werer born. He preceded her in death. She later marries Leonard Montgomery who also preceded her in death. To this union six children were born.
Mother Montgomery was saved in 1928 under the leadership of the late Elder Brim. She later joined St. James Temple under the leadership of the late Elder J. Henderson, Overseer. She remained a faithful member until her health failed. She served as a Sunshine Band teacher and was a Mother of the Church.
Through her faithfulness, many people were led to Christ. She was a beautiful saint of God and a blessing to her family and all who knew her. Mother Montgomery showed love and devotion throughout her life.
"Precious in the sight of God is the death of the saints." Mother Montgomery went home to be with the Lord at the age of 78 on Saturday, December 5, 1987 at the Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, Clarksdale, Mississippi. Her oldest daughter, Lucille Smith, predeceased her, July 12, 1987.
Dearly loved, "Mama Cille" leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, eleven children; five sons James (Agnes), Robert, David (Roberta), Leonard Jr. (Mildred) and Clarence (Dessie), six daughters, Rosie (Supt. Bobby) Price, Pearlie (James) Brown, Liz (Troy) Brumfield and Ernestine (Benjamin) Martin all of Saginaw, Michigan, Addie (Bennie) Gooden and Thelma (Elder Terrance O.) Adams of Clarksdale, Mississippi; 54 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, three brothers, Hosea Scott of Webster, Florida; W. M. Scott and Sylvester Scott of Orlando, Florida; three sisters, Odessa, Annie Bell and Willie Bell Pasco of Buffalo, New York; one god-daughter, Irene Dixon and many other relatives and friends.

I miss you so much Ma. You were the best Grandmother/Mother in the world. You’re forever in my heart!!!!
