Comment: First of all, hats off and a big thanks to the ROC. You’ve done a very professional job and I’m sure that will continue right through the actual event!

After graduating from Cal I returned to the OC and started a small trucking company, running that for 14 years before closing it down and working for a large company designing and selling large screen and digitally printed commercial graphics, primarily for fleets of trucks and trailers.

During that time I married my beautiful, amazing wife, Katie. We bought a house in Newport Beach, had two children and built a community of friends with a pleasant lifestyle of work, yoga, entertaining and travel.

Since I’d read the serialized National Geograhic story about Robin Graham in 1969, who sailed his 24’ “Dove” single handed around the world, I dreamt of doing the same. In 2016, Katie and I bought our sailboat, naming it Samsara and started preparing to push off on a grand adventure, thinking that might begin in 2017.

By mid 2020, with COVID in full swing, we finally achieved escape velocity, managing to break away from the very significant gravitational pull generated by our 30 years in one place.

First we sailed north along the US west coast and explored the San Juan Islands. In 2021 we headed south to Mexico cruising from the Sea of Cortez to Zihuatenejo, taking an inland tour to check out the archeological sites and culture.

In 2023, with COVID waning and French Polynesia opening up, we got our visas, untied the lines in Puerto Vallarta and pointed our bow towards the Marguesas, making the longest passage we’re ever likely to do. We continued on through the Tuomotus and Society Islands, crossing to Tonga then south to New Zealand by November 1, to get out of the cyclone belt.

We explored New Zealand and this past May sailed north to Fiji where we still feel we have lots to discover. Our intention is to continue west with the prevailing winds to visit Vanuatu and New Caledonia before crossing to Australia to, once again, get out of the cyclone belt by November 1, perhaps in Brisbane or Sydney.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the bios/comments of our classmates and marvel at how many people I don’t remember and the amazing things you’ve done. I’ve enjoyed several previous reunions and regret that I won’t be at this 50th, since it appears that the attendance will be quite a bit higher. I’ll be thinking of you! All the best!

Comment: I retired in 2020 as logistics Manager for DON. I wasn’t very involved with high school events and social activities. I went on a few girl overnight parties. Teepeed a house lots of laughs. Not sure If anyone will remember me lol. Attend a few football games. I was a shy person didn’t feel I fitted in. That’s all part of growing up, I enjoyed high school despite my shyness. I looked at the memorial page was sad to see class mates that have passed away. I looked up all the names so I could put names to faces. I did recall them all. I didn’t know all personally but felt sad. Life takes all on many twists and turns. We must take nothing for granted enjoy the ride.

Comment: LeeAnn and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our "residential resort" for the reunion! We've lived at our home in North Tustin for 37 years now and enjoy sharing it with friends and family. We've been married for 45 years and have to two amazing kids to show for it!

I've been fortunate to have had a 40 year career that grew out of a hobby I started back is school -- working with video, photography and graphic design. In the early 90s I learned to fly and got my pilot's license. I've had adventures flying with the family all over the country plus into Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. I continued my flight training, acquiring more advanced and challenging ratings. In 2022 I found myself at a crossroads; I still wanted to fly more. With some encouragement from a retired 747 captain, I started looking for a flying job, and last year was hired by Goodyear to be one of the pilots to fly their blimps! I still enjoy doing production work (it's a creative outlet for me), but now that activity has become the "hobby" again.
