| Comment: I’ve lived in Maine for the last 25 years. I’ve got three fabulous kids ages 25, 21, and 7. The 20-somethings are mostly fledged. My wife, the 7YO, and I live on a farm about half an hour north of Portland. I work for the Democratic administration in Augusta where I’m director of our Bureau of Agriculture, Food & Rural Resources. Before that I worked (in reverse chronological order) in ag and food policy, ag education, secondary education (HS English), and publishing. My wife is the main farmer but I pitch in where I can. As in my Whitman days, my main extracurricular is playing music with friends—which I do as often as possible. | |
