Katherine (Katy) Rice (Rozeboom)

Katy Rice, age 63, of Ames, Iowa passed unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
Katy was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on March 2, 1955. She was the daughter of William and Joyce (Benson) Rozeboom. She married her husband of over 39 years, Butch Rice, at Bethesda Lutheran Church on April 28, 1979. Katy and Butch raised two daughters, Erin and Nicolle.
Katy received a Liberal Arts degree from William Penn University. She held numerous positions over her 30+ year career, primarily at Iowa State University, including fundraising, outreach management, program coordination, and administration. Cheryl Ring

Cheryl Lynn Ring, 54, of Ames died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Abington on Grand. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. July 16, 2010, at Bethesda Lutheran Church.
Cheryl was born on September 2, 1955 in Ames to Stanley and Betty (Andreason) Ring. She was a 1973 Ames High School graduate and was a CNA. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.
Cheryl had a great sense of humor and a strong faith; she enjoyed reading, music, travel, dancing, watching movies, and people.
She is survived by her mother, Betty; sister, Karen Krupinski of Milton, DE; nephews, Jason (Maria) and Brett, niece, Lauren; and grand-nephew, Riley.

Todd Sand

Todd Michael Sand was born on April 9, 1955, in Phoenix, Arizona, the second of Phyllis and Raymond Sand's three children. The family moved to Ames in 1967, where Todd graduated from high school in 1973. Todd later moved to California, where he was a flight attendant. He was killed in a pedestrian accident on June 4, 2010, in Cathedral City, California.
Todd is survived by his husband, Ralph Edward Tardugno; mother, Phyllis; and sister, Cindy. He was predeceased by his father and brother, Joel.

Edmund (Ned) Shank

Ned Shank (February 19, 1956 – November 30, 2000) was an American essayist, historic preservationist, and the author of one children's book, The Sanyasin's First Day. He was married to the writer Crescent Dragonwagon and, with her, owned Dairy Hollow House, a country inn and restaurant in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The couple also co-founded the nonprofit Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow.

Grady Shelton

Grady H. Shelton, 42, of Vashon Island, Wash., died of respiratory ailment there on Feb. 13. Memorial services will be held Saturday in Vashon Island.
Dr. Shelton was born in Memphis, Tenn., and had lived in Ames for several years before moving to the Seattle area in 1981.
He was a veterinarian and an affiliate associate professor at the University of Washington. He wrote and lectured nationwide on the subject of the feline immunodeficiency virus and, in 1994, founded Feline Retrovirus and Oncology Referral Service.

Mark Skadberg

Mark Daniel Skadberg 60, of Ames passed away October 5, 2015. Mark was born August 25, 1955 in South Dakota to John Marvin and Marvel ( Meil) Skadberg.
Mark graduated from Ames High School in 1973.
He is survived by one brother, Andy (Sarah Ford) Skadberg of Oregon and one sister Kari (Carol Gildersleeve) Skadberg of Montana. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Laurie Skadberg.

Arne Skarshaug

Dr. Arne J. Skarshaug of Ames, Iowa, a former biology and physiology teacher at South Georgia College in Douglas, died Saturday of pneumonia at the Mercy Medical Center. He was 35.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames with burial at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
A native of Ames, he graduated from Iowa State University and received his master's degree and doctorate from the University of Georgia.
Surviving are his mother, Evelyn L. Webb, and stepfather, Howard D. Webb, of Ames, Iowa.

Carol Sullivan (Peterson)

Our beloved Carol Ann Sullivan passed away on July 11th, 2022, at the age of 67 following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on May 20th, 1955 in Ames, IA, the youngest of three daughters to Paul and Mary Peterson. Carol was raised in Southern California (Orange County) and enjoyed camping, water skiing, snow skiing, and dancing. Her family returned to Iowa just prior to Carol's junior year of high school. She graduated from Ames High School in 1973 where she met her future husband of 41 years, Tim Sullivan.
