John Cowen

John and I were friends from elementary school and church. Because he was shorter than most as a child his mom continually had him drink his "Tigers Milk". It worked, as he ended up growing over 6 feet tall. John and I were closer at church, especially Church Camp, becoming Ping-Pong competitors and teammates (he was better). I tried reaching out to him several years ago only to discover he had passed away. His memorial is incredible and I recommend others check it out.. I remember John from the neighborhood growing up. We went to school together for years. You were our Treasurer Senior year, and a fun guy to be around. I was so sad to find out you had passed while on the reunion committee. You are missed.

I knew John since Lasley elementary school. He was indirectly involved in the recording of my album. While at a party with him at Denver University, I was playing Dedication, and a friend of his, Jenny Austin, began singing along with lovely aahs. She later sang on my album when I recorded it.
