Event Details

The in-person walk will take place in the Shattuck Picnic Area, Franklin Park, across from the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, 1 Circuit Drive, Boston. Registration opens at 8:00am. All walkers must check-in at the registration tent and sign a waiver. The kick off will begin at 10:00am followed immediately by the Walk/Run. Late arrivals are welcome to join the course at any time.

REGISTRATION
All walkers are encouraged to register online to participate. All donations will go directly to funding programs and services offered by the organization. Online registration closes on September 22nd at midnight. On-site registration is available on the day of the event.

T-SHIRTS
All registered walkers who have collected pledges will receive a t-shirt. Walkers who have not collected pledges can purchase a t-shirt on the day of the event. T-shirts for in-person walkers can be picked up at the registration tent. T-shirts for virtual walkers will be mailed approximately one week before the event. Please register early to ensure that your t-shirt arrives on time.


ROUTE

The in-person walk route consists of a 2.5 mile loop around the William E. Devine golf course inside Franklin Park. The route is suitable for walkers of all abilities. Walkers are welcome to complete as many laps as they feel comfortable.  Virtual walkers can choose their own route and distance.


PARKING AND DIRECTIONS

Free street parking is available along Circuit Drive and in several parking lots throughout Franklin Park.

Franklin Park is close to the Forrest Hills MBTA “T” Station. To find directions to the Walk site using the MBTA click here.


FINISH, FOOD, AND FUN
The end of the walk will signal the start of the Multicultural Concert featuring local performers. There will be an on-site refreshments table with water and light food. There will be music and kid-friendly activities including face painting. Bring the whole family and help raise awareness.

 


How to Participate

In Person

  • Join us at Franklin Park (across from Shattuck Hospital) in person from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
  • Registration begins at 9:00am and the walk kicks off at 10:00am. At 11:00am we begin our program which will broadcast live via Zoom and Facebook.

 

Virtual

  • Can't join us in person? Then walk anywhere you wish; in your home, in your backyard, on the treadmill or a park near you. Don’t forget to send us pictures with a caption on the day of the walk, so we can pos them on our social media pages. Be sure to follow us on social media for updates leading up to the day of the walk.
