MASUK, Arthur
Archie passed away of natural causes on 9 January 2021 in Saskatoon, SK.
Archie was born in the King George area in 1931 to Steven and Tillie Masuk. He attended King George, Bedford Road and the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1954 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Dad always worked, from helping his dad at the inland grain terminal to surveying the DEW Line in University. His professional career included working for the City of Saskatoon and Government of Canada in both Corrections, and the Department of Indian Affairs.
Dad met mom, Catherine Waldner at City Hall in 1962 where they both worked, marrying in October 1964. They lived in Churchill, Manitoba on the military base for two years, and then moved to Regina in 1966. There they had their two children, Lesley and Mitchell. In 1976, the family returned to Saskatoon, moving to Pacific Heights. Mom passed away in 2013. Dad remained in the family home, thanks to the help of his wonderful neighbour's, the Nguyen's.
Dad was famous for his garden, remembering everything he had ever read, and mostly for his love of his family. He is survived by Lesley (Ed) and their daughters Sage and Sian, and Mitch (April), his sister-in-law, Lillian Priel, his brother Walter's children, nieces Barb Parliament, Sandra Loeppky, Pat Brown and nephew Ron Popoff and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine, his brother Walter and sister and brother-in-law, Olga and Bill Popoff and his parents.
Dad was laid to rest beside his beloved Catherine at Emmanuel Country Church, Langham, SK on 12 January 2021.
