CARL MERRICK Obituary
MERRICK, Carl G. 68, of Newton, MA, died at his home on Friday, May 24, 2013. He was the son of the late Edward M. Merrick, M.D. & the late Mary Aileen (Mahoney) Merrick. He is survived by his son, Jeremy B. Merrick of Block Island, RI, daughter and son-in-law Maegan and Christopher Hobe of Block Island, RI, and grandchildren John Reilly Hobe and Zackary Blake Hobe. He is also survived by 5 of his 10 siblings, including brothers and sisters-in-law, his twin, Edward M. Merrick, Jr. and Donna Merrick of Plainville, MA, Brian R. Merrick and Rebecca Pierce-Merrick of West Barnstable MA, John H. and Joanne Merrick of Manchester, NH, Christopher and Barbara Merrick of Kingston, MA, his sisters, Lee Ellicott of Porter, IN and Viki Merrick of Woods Hole, MA, and sister-in-law Donna Merrick of Walpole, MA. He was predeceased by his brothers, James and Michael Merrick and sister, Ann Dale. He also leaves his former wife and long-time companion, Laura Larsen-Merrick of Brookline, MA and Marcia Phelan-Merrick of Block Island, RI. A graduate of Brookline High School and the University of Massachusetts; he was in the restaurant and hotel management business for most of his career before joining the Special Projects Office at the MBTA from which he retired. He was a veteran of the U.S Air Force.
