Mr. WEINERMAN died Monday at his Brookline home of complications from AIDS. He was 44.

He wrote "Practical Law: A. Layperson's Handbook" (1980). His poems appeared in the American Poetry Review, Partisan Review and the Southern Poetry Review and in the Crown National Anthology Poets for Life (1989).

A 1968 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Mr. WEINERMAN served as editor in chief of the Massachusetts Daily Collegian there. He graduated from Case Western Reserve Law School in Cleveland in 1971.

During the 1970s Mr. WEINERMAN taught courses in law and music appreciation at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. He was a lecturer in the law and justice program at the University of Massachusetts at Boston from 1984 to 1986.

He leaves his mother, Frances (Ednas) WEINERMAN of Coconut Creek, Florida; his companion, Willis Q. GIBSON of Brookline; and two brothers, Lloyd M., of Randallstown, Maryland, and Ernest A. of Burlington.
