Crystal Elizabeth Cathey, 21, a student and assistant producer in broadcasting, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, in California.

Crystal was born in Irving and was a 2000 graduate of Colleyville Heritage High School. She was a talented thespian and was president of the high school drama club. While attending Santa Monica College, she worked as an assistant producer of the morning show on KZLA Radio. She was a bright, vivacious young woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Crystal was a member of Airport Freeway Church of Christ.

Survivors: Her loving parents, John and Susan Cathey; sister, Cynnamon Cathey; grandparents, Darrel and Janette Cathey and Ike and Nell Hardin; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
