Diane Bradford Jones, 63, of Calhoun died on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Floyd Medical Center following several months of declining health. Diane was born in Michigan on October 14, 1956. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alan and Ricky Bradford. A big part of Diane’s life was athletics. She was a player, a referee, and a coach. Diane will be remembered as a mentor to many children down through the years. In recent years, she coached the children of those she had worked with when they were young. Since 2002, Diane had been the assistant director of the Gordon County Department of Parks and Recreation.
Diane is survived by her husband, Steve Jones; her daughter, Nikki Jones, and her special friend, Antwon Gordon; her parents, Thomas and Edith Garrett Bradford; her grandchildren, Peyton Robinson and Steven Jones of Calhoun; her brothers, Larry and Mickey Bradford of Calhoun; her sisters, Darlene (David) Farrell and Debbie (Ricky) Randolph; sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Pam and Dwayne Smith of Ringold and niece and nephew, Michael and Sydney Smith of Ringgold and a special niece, Ashley Farrell of Calhoun.other family members and many good friends.
To honor her wishes, Diane’s body was cremated. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family asks that flowers be omitted, and friends have asked that contributions be made on her obituary page to the funeral home to help defray medical and funeral expenses.
