The funeral service for Cheree Ann La Fon of 1904 Bridge St Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug 9 at St Theodore's Catholic Church. Father Robert J. Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and one hour before service at the church.

Cheree died Monday Aug 5,1996 as a result of a car accident. She was 24 years old. Cheree was born in Albert Lea. on June 8. 1972, the daughter of Jearl and Mary (Kortz) La Fon. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1990. She also attended South Central Technical College from 1991-1993 in the fashion merchandising program. She won the DECCA award in apparel and accessories, which sent her on to Florida to compete in the nationals.

Cheree had worked at Perkins, S P Clothiers and Maurices all of Albert Lea. She currently was employed as coordinator at Elm Homes. Cheree enjoyed riding bike ,roller blading and playing ball with Cody.

Cheree is survived by her son Cody La Fon of Albert Lea; parents, Jearl and Mary La Fon of Texas; brother, Christopher O' Dell La Fon; sister Candice Marie La Fon and grandmother Lillie La Fon all of Texas; aunts uncles, Pat and her husband Bob Cather of Oklahoma, Carrol and her husband Billy Joe Draper of Minnesota, Charles La Fon and his wife Deloris of Texas, Norman La Fon and his wife Oleatha of Texas, Jerry Kortz and his wife Bennie of Minnesota, Donald Kortz and Phillip Kortz of Minnesota, extended family Greg and Pat Madrigal and family of Albert Lea and many, many cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Anthony and Geneva Kortz and Rector La Fon and cousins.

Our "daughter" and "sister" was like a white rose, so young and precious. Cheree was always there for Cody, even disregarding her own situations.

Our promise to our daughter, to always love and cherish her, you'll always be in our prayers and we'll take good care of Cody.

Cheree will be sadly missed by all who loved her!
