Comment: In 46 years of teaching, you were my favorite class! I was hired without teaching certification and took Education courses that ultimately drew my interest away from second language learning to a rewarding career investigating children’s acquisition of a first language. Post PhD I enjoyed being on the faculty at Sage, Siena, and UNC-Greensboro. During the 80s I served on North Colonie’s board of education, thus maintaining a close relationship with the school district. My most meaningful professional service was working with Lithuanian teachers right after their independence from the USSR when they wanted to learn about how to teach about democracy in democratic ways. Golden retrievers had been a constant in my life for 50 years; current housemate is a Goldendoodle. Interests include photography (mostly wildlife and plants); music; native plant propagation; and aging(!) and spirituality. Best trip was to Hudson Bay to photograph polar bears. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday at the reception (5-7PM) prior to dinner.

Comment: After graduating college, I ended up in Ft Lauderdale for a few years. Moved home to help Mom and Dad. I purchased the house that I grew up in.
Retired in January 2025 from Callanan Industries(Clemente Latham Concrete) after 29 years.

Comment: Graduated college. 1st marriage, 1980-2008, 4 children. Remarried 2014-Present. Worked at the Watervliet Arsenal/Benet Laboratories, 1981-2023, 42 years. Designed gages (1981-1990) to insure proper component fit, form & function on tank cannon, howitzers & mortars. Designed weapon systems, (1990-2023) from concept to manufacturing and field testing for the U.S. Army, DoD. Co-inventor on 12 U.S. Patents. Retired and moved to Florida, 2023.

Comment: Can't say Shaker prepared me for what was to come in life, but it did help to get the ball rolling. Took awhile to find way. Ended up working working in IT, got married, have two kids and one grandchild. Living in Colorado. No regrets. Will not be attending reunion. Best to all.
