1962-10-17 2015-12-04A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Horne in New Iberia for James Lorne Picard, 53, who passed away on Friday, December 4. 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m, until 1 p.m. on Monday.
Deacon Jay Bergeron will officiate the memorial service James "Jimmy" Lorne Picard went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 4, 2015, after being a good and faithful servant here on Earth. Jimmy was born on October 17, 1962, to John Walter "Coon" and Beverly Picard of Milton. At the time of his death, he was 53 years old. Jimmy is survived by the love of his life, Dawn, his wife of 28 years; his two daughters and Katherine, were his greatest joys, as well as a most recent addition to the family, her beloved granddaughter Ava Claire, daughter of Alison and Hunter. After 24 years, Jimmy got his sons Hunter Moody, Alison's husband, and Andrew Boulet, Katherine's boyfriend. Jimmy is also survived by his six sisters and brothers Julie Picard Fox, Susan Picard M Mattie Picard Mouille, Larry Picard, Richard Picard and Robert Picard.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy was a member of the Comeaux High School graduation class of 1980 and remained close friends with many of his classmates. After high school, Jimmy enrolled at USL (now UL where he received an undergraduate degree. Jimmy was born in Milton and has been a resident of New Iberia for over 28 years. Jimmy was an avid golfer and shared many wonderful days golfing with his Squirrel Run buddies. His other pleasures in life included spending time with family, hunting and fishing. One of his favorite activities was spending time with his "Classic Country Saturday Night" gang, which included neighborhood friends and family. Jimmy showed his enjoyment for life through music, dancing, cooking and serving others. He was known for his love and nurturing of animals. In lieu of flowers, the family of Jimmy asks that you honor his memory by making a donation to your charity of choice.
