Steve loved spending time with family and friends, especially loving his grandbabies. He enjoyed family vacations sitting on the beach, classic rock and cooking gumbo year round.

After Steve graduated from Comeaux High School, he began his career in the oilfield with Norton Christensen in 1980. He spent 29 years of his career at Baker Hughes, where "his guys in the shop" truly became his work family. Steve moved to Houston and worked for Weatherford and was currently with Phoenix Technology Services. Later in Steve's career he used his wealth of experience and common sense to help develop better drilling equipment. Steve enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with his coworkers. His patience, kindness, integrity and attitude were special in an often stressful business.

Pallbearers will be Michael Malagarie, Blaine Malagarie, Brandon Phillips, Uriah "Chip" Phillips, Danny Roach, and Michael Wood.  A heartfelt thanks to all the family who travel to visit with Steve.  Thank you to all of the friends who have brought meals, visited, and prayed for our family.  Even though it seems like we have had so much time to prepare to say goodbye, we are still not ready. Please continue to keep our family and all families who fight this battle with cancer in your prayers. We should all have hearts as big as Steve and see the cup half full instead of half empty.
