This project will provide 250 students at the Rancho Santa Marta Orphanage & School in Baja California Mexico with a new Computer Lab to include 30 workstations. The Ranch, located 60 miles south of Ensenada, is a home for 50 abandoned youth and a school for kindergarten through 9th graders with plans for a high school in the coming year. The existing computer lab is outdated and ineffective. A new lab with 30 new computer workstations will provide the students with the opportunity to learn technical and computer skills that are critical to prepare them for further education and/or a career in today's highly technology centered world.

We are trying to raise $10,000 which will be matched 3 to 1 through Rotary grants.  Every $1 you give turns into $3.  It's an awesome opportunity to triple your contribution.  Rotary International Foundationa and District 5340 provide the matching dollars.  The Ensenada and Santee-Lakeside Rotary Clubs are teaming up to make this happen.

There is a need for students, especially in disadvantaged communities like San Vicente Mexico where Rancho Santa Marta is located, to have access to education and training in the areas of technology and computer literacy. A new computer lab will enable the school staff/personnel to teach students the latest computer programs and skills, like Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, they will need as they continue their education and into their careers. The school has an excellent reputation and is home to the only "special education" programs in the region.

The Rancho Santa Marta School Computer staff will be responsible for the maintenance of the new workstations as well. Each new computer workstation consists of a Dell Precision T3620 Mini Tower plus a Dell Monitor - E2016H. This equipment was selected with the assistance and input from the school computer staff and administrators along with I.T. professionals here in the United States.
