"After EIU I moved into the city (Chicago) and was there until about 1990. While there I worked in academic computing at Northwestern and pursued various kinds of music...electronic, punk, experimental, industrial. Around 1990 I moved to New York City. There I worked in academic computing at NYU and pursued various kinds of fine art...mostly computer based sound, image, video installation, lightboxes, etc. While in NYC I earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. Around 1990 I moved to New York City. There I worked in academic computing at NYU and pursued various kinds of fine art...mostly computer based sound, image, video installation, lightboxes, etc. While in NYC I earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. About two years ago I moved to College Station Texas to accept a faculty position at Texas A&M University in the Dept. of Visualization.  It's an interesting mix of computer scientists and artists.  My teaching load is light so I get to pursue art making and research. Working on tenure at my advanced age...hope I get it! I've been married to Laura for 6+ years but we've been together since grad school. No kids. Cats are enough. | Comment: I am very blessed. I have a great son and daughter-in-law, daughter and son-in-law and a wife who has been my rock for 50 years. I am a Grandpa of four awesome grand kids, Emily and Elissa (Ryan) and Barrett (Bear) and Brooke from (Kelli).After getting my BS degree in Business Administration and a 20 year career in corporate America working for companies such as BASF, Johnson Wax, Valspar and then my own consulting company, I became a firefighter and paramedic. I served in the fire service for 25 years retiring as Fire Chief for the Richmond, IL Fire Dept. after 14 years. I retired on October 25, 2018 and moved to New Port Richey Florida with my wife. Now, we are looking forward to the southern hospitality and plenty of sun! | |
