It’s hard to believe so much time has gone by. To think of the things we’ve all seen and the places we have been. After DHS I attended college and then joined the USAF ahead of the Draft. My tour of duty included a year in Saigon and a few years in the Sacramento Valley at Travis AFB. UCONN welcomed me upon my release, and I graduated BSCE which became my path. I earned a professional engineering license shortly after graduation and have worked in structural engineering and construction now for 40 years, accumulating other licenses and gaining a body of knowledge along the way. I have been fortunate to have worked on exciting projects such as the World Trade Center rebuild, JFK AirTrain, a few moveable bridges, a power plant, and presently the new Moynihan Station adjacent to Penn Station. My wife Nancy and I have been married for 33 years. We live in Darien. Our daughter Lindsay graduated 2nd in the Class of ’11, then on to Dartmouth ’15, and is now at Morgan Stanley. I consider myself blessed to have grown up in Darien, where the bar is set higher. And I am impressed by the successes I see in my classmates. I wish you all good health and hope to see you at many more reunions. |

Its been fun reading about everyone. It seems amazing to me that so much time has passed since High School - many memories are still strong. The quick version... From DHS to University of Delaware for Electrical Engineering. Two years later took a two year hiatus to visit the scenic Mekong River. Had as much fun as I could there, came back to Darien, married a high school sweatheart from Norwalk, went back to Delaware to finish school - this time with a combo EE and Bus Admin major. Got a job with Hewlett Packard (where I ran into Dick Myrick years later) after graduation. Worked at HP (and its spinoff Agilent Technologies) for 30 years before being "right-sized" (It was OK, 30 years is long enough). My tour of duty with HP took me to Paramus, NJ, Rockville, MD, back to NJ (Rockaway) then to White Plains, Bridgeport and Wappinger Falls, NY. Finally I relocated to Fort Collins, CO in 1991 where I remain. Today I am starting up a new business selling therapeutic lasers to manual therapists, PTs, chripractors and the like. My business partner is my wife Cathy who is a PT and a Rolfer herself. Family-wise had a daughter Sara and son Blake but finally divorced after 16+ years of marriage. Married again, this time to my soul mate, after moving to Colorado. My daughter blessed me with a grandson last year and now makes her home in a suburb of Raleigh, NC, but my son remains an eligible bachelor in the process of relocating from Cleveland to Miami where he will be the tournament director for a new LPGA event. I hope you all have a wonderful time at the reunion. Its been great reconnecting with Alan and others. Best to all. |

Brief history having not been able to make the last renunion. DHS then to Monmouth College, IL with Mark Duffield, Victor Benzyk, and Mike O'Neil. Drafted into the Army but did ROTC instead and got medical discharge after basic training with a bad back. Went back to Darien, hooked up with Mark Koellmer, and worked the swing shift at the gas station on 1-95. Went to Woodstock Then onto Florida to open a fast food - seafood place with Mark Duffield and two other investors - went bust after a year and returned to Darien. Painted a guy's house who was moving to Denver and he asked me to join him and his wife and restore their mini-mansion in Denver. After 6 months the house was done and I went on to work as a Laborer, Iron Worker apprentice, Warehouseman and then got a job as a Management Consultant with a company doing cost savings (a/k/a eliminating jobs). While there, had gigs in Dallas, Cleveland and Alburquerque. Turned down the next assignment in Deadwood, SD and instead got married and took a trip around the world. Got back - no work so we moved to Norwalk, CT where she was a programmer for Pitney Bowes and I was an Operations Manager for 3 Floors at Bloomingdales - 59th Street. 2.5 years later, shed the wife and the job to go to work for Citi for the "Citi Never Sleeps" campaign and moved to Manhattan. Hooked up with Scott Sutton where we had season Jets and Ranger Tickets. Citi kept moving me around so I moved closer to the job - Forest Hills. Met wife #2 - a/k/a/ Ruth. Worked 17 years and then got laid off and went to work for EDS (Ross Perot's old company) in Morris Plains , NJ for 2.5 years, then got laid off and went to work for Verizon, got laid off, then to 2 Internet Securit Companies, both went bust. At this point I needed to make some money so I went back to Citi and retired there in 2008 with a total of 25 years. Two days after I left, I got a call from a friend and went back to work as a consultant for DBM ( Drake Beam Morin), a large international outplacement company. Business is slow right now so give me a call - more to follow....hope you weren't bored and I apologize for the delay in getting this on the website. My very best to all of you and a sincere thanks to all of the folks that worked putting this web site together. |

I knew that first day when I put on the brown ribbed socks, leather tie shoes and the dorky wool uniform that this was not what I had in mind for high school.I did survive three years at Greenwich Academy even though they called me "the new girl" for two years. You can't imagine how excited I am to be included in the DHS 40th reunion! For the last 32 years I have been living in Marblehead,Ma.,married and the mother of three boys.Ben,30,is married, living in Atlanta,Ga.He is in the Secret Service.Andrew,.27,just got out of the Army where he was a Ranger in the Special Forces and Jamie,21,is still in college at Colby. My parents and two brothers still live in Darien so I am a frequent visitor. I am looking forward to September and reconnecting with old friends. Many thanks for including me! |

Comment: Phew 40 years is a long time. I graduated from Emory University and worked for TWA for a couple of years. Then I tried my hand at acting for about 10 years. Bumping into Garry Brown at auditions every so often. Saw the writing on the wall after a decade and packed it in. Got married had my son Andrew. He is now 26 and working for US Bank in Denver , no grand kids yet. Got divorced. Oh yes, spent a year in Europe in '78. Had more careers than grains of sand at Weed Beach. Now I am living with my wonderful Cheryl in Carmel NY. Not too far from Darien. We celebrate 10 years together this April. Did everyone have a crush on Robyn Risque or just me and Garry? Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing how all of us turned out. From Hindley, to Tokeneke, Mather and DHS. Great time and place to grow up. |

Jan and I moved to Chapel Hill 22 years ago to raise our family. I am retired from IBM after a great career in WW Marketing Communications and Advertising. This year I joined my son Jonathan in a real estate partnership. Jan will be joining us soon. Our daughters Carrie and Kelly live nearby and we are fortunate to spent lots of time with their families and our three grandchildren, Sarah(6), Lily(2.5) and Wyatt(2). We still talk about the Reunion and it was great to see how everyone is doing. We both wish we had more time to catch up with all of you. This website will give us that next best chance. |
