Comment: I see Bill Fine (who I remember - at least by name) here, so I figure I'll check in too. I too was packed off to boarding school, after one year at DHS. I passed through Holmes School and Middlesex JH with probably more of you than I can still remember (more than I'm sure still remember me), so it is a bit of trip down memory lane visiting this site. I'll add my presence here on the off-chance there might be anyone caring to contact me, perhaps to try to jog my memory.

Occupation: Executive Producer- Ray Brown's Talkin' Birds radio

Status: Unmarried

Upon leaving high school, I attended Monmouth College, Monmouth, Ill.  With me at Monmouth, were Mark Vosburgh, Vic Benzyk and Mike O'Neill.  After graduation, I lived on Nantucket Island and was a commercial fisherman for 13 years.  After leaving Nantucket, I became a long-liner in the Gulf of Mexico, fishing for grouper and red snapper.  A rogue storm/perfect storm destoyed our boat and almost our crew and my fishing days were over.  Some time during those years I was able to travel and see the world, living with a Masai Tribe in Kenya, crossing the Sahara Desert in a trruck and traveling 3,000 miles down the Amazon River.  At this point, I came to Boston, where I became director of business development at WGBH public TV and radio, a position I held for 15 years.  I then became director of corporate relations at the New England Conservatory of Music.  Most recently, I was the co-owner of a small gift store,  Blackstone's of Beacon Hill in Boston, MA.  During this period, I wrote and collaborated with my sister Sharon on two books.  The first book, "The Last Shepard and Tales of theTenth Ornament" was published and to follow was "AS I RECALL-Fireflies in the Night". The "Last Shepard" has been under consideration as a movie.  Keep your fingers crossed! Currently, as I have for the past 11 years, been the executive producer of Ray Brown's Talkin' Birds.  You can listen to the show at Talkin' Birds.com.  In celebration of the National Park Service Centennial, we will be performing live broadcasts from Acadia, the Grand Canyon and Yosemite.

I am happy to say that I am still in contact with my pals from high school, Mark Vosburgh, Chuck Conti, Tom Galaba and Bill Morrison.  We keep in touch on a regular basis and so therefore looking forward to joining them and other old friends at the 50th reunion.  See you there.  Duff

Comment: I have been living in Falmouth, ME for 8 years now after 40 years in Denver, CO.  I loved Colorado and all it has to offer, but the East had been on my mind for a long time.  So I packed up and traveled back to my roots.  Maine is my "art and soul".  A great fit for me.  I have a great life here, wonderful neighborhood, and new friends...will never forget all the wonderful people that have crossed my path all these years.  I enjoy the arts in many genres and enjoy creating.  My children are, son, 36, and a daughter, 33  They are my rock. I have two beautiful grandchilren. I am over the moon! I have enjoyed staying in contact with Chuck Conti, Mark Vosburgh, Tom Galaba, Bill Morrison and Kathy Schumaecker.  Friends for life.  It has been great keeping in contact with Darien friends through Facebook.  A great way to keep up and feel connected.  Can't wait for the 50th class reunion.

Comment: Mike Johnson called out of the blue last night. How sweet that was. And how sweet it would be to gather with friends from my Darien roots come September.

Our nest is emptying. Logan, 23, is in San Francisco, working in a biology lab at UCSF by day and jazz drumming by night. Spencer, 21, is a junior at Trinity, currently soaking up Italian culture on his semester abroad. Taylor, 15, is into business, volleyball, and tolerating his square parents until he, too, flies the coop. Brooke continues as Medical Director at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she's struggling with a job that is too big for any one person as well as the recent death of her father.
I continue to find daily challenges in my psychotherapy work, which for the most part I love doing. I am still able to run and, the past few years, have rediscovered the joys of biking. I'm also on a mini quest to find my voice. Leaving butchered songs on Garry Brown's answering machine has been fun.

So, softball at Hindley?

Comment: Life has been very good to me.  My husband Jim and I recently celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary and have lived in Darien for 32 of those years.  We are blessed with three wonderful children and an adorable granddaughter.  Justin, 31, is married to Noel and they have a 2 yr. old daughter, Molly.  Bryan is 29 living in California with his fiancee Cindy.  Lori, 25, a UCONN graduate is now pursuing a career in nursing.  The years seem to have gone by in a blink, but all is well.

It was great to see you all at reunion.  A little behind schedule, as usual, i thought i would add a little here.  After DHS, went to Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT and majored in American Literature and played linebacker on the Panther football team for 4 years.
Worked as a carpenter for a couple of years after Midd, married my college sweetheart, Janet Halstead, who was from Springdale and a year behind me at Middlebury.  Worked for Bank of Boston as a commercial loan officer for 7 years, then ran the treasury function for Thermo Electron for 5 years, a Fortune 500 company.  I then co-founded a a start-up global equity money management firm with a PhD from MIT in 1987  We bounced around for awhile and then cought fire and just went by $80 billion in assets under management, about 350 clients.  Clients are large institutions like MIT, Stanford, CALPRS, Oregon, Virginia, Philips;  UPS, etc. Clients are currently in 22 countries.

We have 3 kids, Chip, 27, Katie 25, and Lindsey 22.  All went to Middlebury and all are out.  Chip married his freshman honey from Middlebury this June.  I am on the board of trustees at Middlebury, and was board chair for five years up until a couple of years ago.

We built a second home 3 miles from campus a couple of years ago.  Come visit!!

I had a great time at the reunion. Bobby, the golf was fabulous.
