Judy and I just moved to Plano, Texas to be nearer to our children and grandchildren. So far it has been great. I still spend plenty of time in Houston and that will continue. Our oldest grandchild is almost the age that I met Judy - scarry!

Occupation: United Methodist Pastor
Comment: It's been a long road from Darien to Kansas but I'm where I need to be after all these years. After being married for 23 years and living in Wichita, KS, I divorced and returned to seminary to prepare for full time ministry in the United Methodist Church. I'm now pastoring a church in the Wichita area.. My twin daughters are in Dallas and Florida and I now have two grandchildren in Dallas.. Life is good! All in all, what a beautiful time and place growing up in Darien was-

Comment: Hope to get to the 50th Reunion.  Went to the 20th reunion but somehow got lost and never knew about the other reunions.  Life has been good.  After marrying Jon Hadley in 1971 we lived in MA until 1977.  Then moved to Marietta, GA and have been here ever since.  We have 1 son who lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife Megan and 2 daughters, Lola (4) and Evie (1 month).  Over the years we've enjoyed a lot of travel.

Unfortunately 2 years ago, my husband Jon was diagnosed with Cancer and passed in March 2016.  So life has changed.  I'm fortunate to have a wonderful support group of friends and family.  Would be fun to see everyone.

Comment: Since the last reunion not much has changed except added minor toll of years and genes (what neither parent saw fit to tell you about their own infirmaties).  Still at the American Museum of Natural History and living in the City.  Still doing geological research and enjoying it.  Still enjoy travel, North Fork of Long Island, sailing, trains and life.  Look forward to catching up with you because I probably did not last time.

Still pedaling. After finishing a small college on the banks of the Charles River in Cambridge and having a sufficiently high draft number to give up my deferment, go 1A and not get called,  I thought I was safe from undesirable service, but I thought going to grad. school the safest option -- I went to Princeton majoring in Geology, although by that time I had picked up a wife, Pat changed to Batya.  When that was over I needed to find employment!
I consider myself very lucky to have stumbled into a unique job as Curator of Minerals and Gems at the American Museum of Natural History that provides me with so many opportunities and a life's profession, which I still enjoy -- most of the time. I can chase my own interests while fulfilling the institution's mission of preserving samples from Nature. Perhaps this appears quaint in a world of extraordinary change and challenge, but I feel challenge and change enough in a single career. Some more recognizable benefits are having seen a lot of the world, traveling frequently for my own reasons, and being able to walk to work so I get enough exercise that I can keep my weight under control.  A big thrill and accomplishment was a major exhibition on diamonds that traveled here and abroad (Japan) and is being resuscitated now.  I have been doing field work, on and off,  in Guatemala since '84, looking at odd rocks with an important story and enjoying aspects of Chapino life.
At the 20th reunion, the last for me, my life was in turmoil as Batya had announced her departure.  This  resulted in a divorce 19 years ago, relocation to the Big Apple and remarriage 18 years ago to Carole, my wonderful wife. This life change was a dramatic improvement, although it has taken time to adjust to City Life and City expenses.
Although I keep in touch with Dave Keyes & Steve Buenning and have found Doug Jones, I have lost track of a lot of you, so I look forward to catching up on--gulp--40 years, a jillion miles, and a change in hair quotients.  But needless to say there are some hiding out there who should come in from the cold and reacquaint yourselves.  Whereas the future is what keeps us going, catching up from the past is so much easier and fun now.

Moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2008.  All four granddaughters visited us there last month.  Visited our youngest and his wife at their new home in NC too (our third trip across the bay bridge tunnel in 9 mos).  Headed for UNC game @ UCONN next weekend, then partying w/Pat & Pat in Norwalk!

Comment: Looking forward to seeing you all in October.

I have been married for 39 years, living in Philadelphia for 41.  We have two married children and two grandchildren.  All of them are in Seattle so we visit frequently.  Graduated from DePauw and then earned my MSW from Rutgers.  I had a 35 year career working with adults who have serious mental health issues. My husband and I both retired on 10/10/08 and then had a huge party to celebrate.  Since then we have traveled around the world once and go on several great trips each year.  I play as much tennis and golf as possible. Loving every bit of retirement. Anyone in the Philadelphia area?

Comment: Don't know if anyone is reading these anymore, but you might be amused to know I became a father for the first time on 4.21.21 to a beautiful baby girl! She's doing great - and of course that means there are a lot of other changes in my life- all good. Living on Long Island, Hunting Station. About 12 miles from where I lived in Darien so long ago....

Hope everyone is well and safe

Don Hopkins

Marital status: Married
Children: 1
Occupation: College Professor
Comment: I earned a PhD from Penn State in 1983. Since then I have been a professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I earned tenure around 1988 and was department chair for many years. For much of my time at Temple I focused on research and publishing. Now I mostly enjoy teaching undergraduates more than graduate students or doing research. Undergraduates have a lot more energy and interest in learning for learnings' sake. I have been married for about twenty years. My wife is a school teacher (now retired) for the Philadelphia school district. My son, who is now 18, is about to start college this fall. He will be at Temple studying history and political science. Though I could retire in a couple of years, I probably won't since I still enjoy teaching. I am very interested in restoring  vintage Porsches. I am almost finished rebuilding a 1969 911S right now. I am also very much into playing jazz guitar. Over the years I have become quite a history buff . I look forward to catching up with old classmates and especially those from our unbeaten track team.

Comment: After receiving a call "out of the blue" from Alan King, my curiousity was piqued, and soon escalated. What are those vague apparitions from my distant past up to? Attached is a photo of myself, wife Debra, and two daughters: Claire and Kate. I look bulkier than I am in reality. Sorry I have no before photo. Maybe I'll find something and scan it later.
