Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): After DHS graduation, I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New Zealand, Wellington mission.
After returning home, I married Janet Nalder of Layton Utah in August 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Janet and I had five children and later adopted three of our grandchildren for a total of eight children. Our three youngest children, a boy and twin girls, are all Seniors at Farmington High School.
A few year after receiving my BS degree, we moved from Utah to California where I've spent most of my professional career working in accounting and finance, primarily as a Chief Financial Officer, with several companies throughout California.
A few years ago a job opportunity brought us back to Utah and we moved back to Farmington Utah and now reside in Fruit Heights. I currently work at Lagoon, the same place where I began my working career many many years ago.

Janet Steele (Syndergaard)

Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): After high school I attended Ricks College in Idaho and graduated with a degree in nursing. The following fall I met Scott Steele (class of '72) at a DHS football game and we began dating. We were married in June of 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple. We have 5 children (3 girls and 2 boys) and 14 grandchildren. Our oldest is on a mission in France, and the youngest will turn 1 year next week. I am proud to say my threats worked and all our kids live within 30 minutes of us.
Our first home was in Kaysville, just west of the junior high, so our children are also Davis Darts. Eight years ago we moved to Syracuse to get away from a split entry home and three sets of stairs. Our years of running and doing marathons finally caught up with us.
We had the privilege of my mother living with us for 9 years before she passed away. We also helped take care of Scott's mom while she struggled with cancer before she, too, passed away. Both mine and Scott's dad died at young ages, 60 and 58, so only our oldest child got to meet a grandfather. We're trying to stay active and healthy so we can watch our new generation of little ones grow up.
I worked in the Emergency Department at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful for almost 20 years, then transferred to the surgery department to take care of pre- and post-op surgical patients. Scott taught health and P.E., as well as coached basketball and track, at Farmington Junior High. We both retired 3 years ago. Perfect timing - the pandemic had just started and we missed all those fun restrictions at our jobs.
In March of this year we returned home from an 18 month mission to Virginia. We served with the young single adults and loved every minute of it. Norfolk, where we lived, is home to the world's largest naval base and we had the opportunity to work with many young people in the military and share their experiences. Those months will always be a highlight in our lives. Thank heavens for technology, and that senior missionaries can stay in contact with family anytime.
I won't be able to attend our reunion. I became really close to one YSA convert on our mission, and she is coming to Utah to receive her endowment in the Logan temple on June 24th, and I will be her escort. The following Tuesday she and her fiance, also one of our YSA's, will be married, and I get to be a bridesmaid. A bridesmaid at age 68 - who would have guessed. But I'm honored.
I will be at the reunion in spirit. I loved all four years of my high school experience, especially senior year. A great school and great classmates.
