Occupation: | Retired Physical Therapist |
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): | I attended BYU for two years, then after getting my Mrs. degree we moved to California where we lived for 2 years and had our 1st daughter. We moved to Kaysville and had our 2nd daughter. We then moved to Roy where we had our 3rd daughter. From there we moved to South Ogden where we had our 4th daughter, and finally our only son. We were divorced in1989 and I returned to school at Weber State, then was accepted to the Physical Therapy program at the University of Utah. I graduated in1993. We had remarried in 1990. In 1998 we again divorced. In 1999 I met and married my wonderful husband Roy Waddoups. He has 6 children so together we have 11 children. I worked as a PT at McKay Dee hospital, for a home health company, and at a nursing home in South Ogden. Roy and I moved to Franklin, Idaho in June of 2000. I worked for Mountain West Physical Therapy in North Logan with Cache Valley Hospital until I retired in 2018. My husband is an artist and we went to fairs and art shows to sell his art. We enjoy going to the shows and meeting all kinds of people. We have done shows in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Montana, and Nebraska. Roy sells raw Box Elder Burl by the ton, and blanks for turning knife and gun handles. His art is wildlife and country scenes woodburned on natural edge wood slabs. He was doing metal art when we first met: signs, mailbox stands, yard ornaments, clocks, and many other things. My mother has been living with us for almost 3 years and is a wonderful blessing to us. I continue to play my flute, mostly in church. We have enjoyed serving in many church callings. We have 28 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. |

Children: | 4 |
Occupation: | Music Teacher Retired |
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): | At one of our previous reunions, someone put together a booklet that had our submissions of what we had been doing since graduation. I really like that book! (Thanks to whoever did it!) I hope you will take advantage of this biography block and fill us in with what you've been doing the last 50 years. Here's my bio: I married Dan during my third year at BYU, and managed to graduate 5 years later with a degree in Elementary Education and motherhood (with two boys). We lived in Napa, California for 42 years and had a couple more kids, a boy and a girl. Dan and his family owned a gift store that somehow morphed into a prison order fulfillment business. Now the next generation is pretty much running it, two of our sons (one is managing our Ohio warehouse) and our daughter, as well as nephews and nieces. (If you ever go to prison and receive a Walkenhorst catalog, we will have that wonderful connection!) When the business outgrew our Napa location, we relocated to Sparks, Nevada. I miss Napa, but not the fires, the earthquakes and traffic. I taught piano, organ and flute lessons for about 30 years and amassed hundreds of students over the years. I semi-retired when we moved to Nevada 5 years ago, but if someone really twists my arm, I take them in. Church service has kept me busy; not sure why I ended up being president of our Young Women's organization four times. Maybe I never got it right. Same thing happened with our Women's organization (Relief Society). I play the organ at church and play amazing preludes. I also have led a lot of choirs for church and special events. My husband and I put together a few community events in Napa, one being "A Night in Bethlehem." We even made the front page news. We have 9 grandkids, ages 2 to 21. All girls except 7 of them. They are, of course, better looking and smarter than other people's grandchildren. My claim to fame: I ran the Napa Valley marathon and came in 950th. Fun fact: We named all our kids J names and they all married M's. |

She K such a wonderful feeling of peace and love into our home. I deserve her after 2 hyper boys She has always lived near by. We now work for the same employer. Our Youngest, born in 1990 is so great to have close by. He helps so much and is always bringing the family together. I think that is his Love Language, bonding. He served a mission in CA. We did not get to tour his mission. He has 3 adorable daughters and is the cutest dad. He teaches them how to eat spaghetti the fun way. Holding each noodle up high and sucking it in. He teaches them dance(???) Very unique dancing I must say. I am so glad we have him. Our wonderful, Great, Normal, Lively, and sometimes Crazy Children blessed us with 24 very special grandkids just like them. Luckily for me they live in various states so we get to travel to see them. I have 6 mechanics that take exercise bikes, blenders, and whatever they can get their hands on apart. (That's my exercise excuse, and I'm sticking to it) We literally live on the lower 40 acres of my in-laws dairy farm. Lots of room to run around. Great for active kids. Our Travels: We Picked up our oldest Son from his mission to Costa Rica. Last year we literally flew coast to coast from UT to AZ, to NC then to CA, then back to UT to see our First 3 grandchildren graduate in 3 different states, in a short Week and a half. And squeezed in a Military Retirement for our daughter in-law in the middle. This year we only traveled to 2 States to attend graduations.
