BS Architectural Engineering, Cal Poly State University, SLO, 1974, MS Civil Engineering/Construction Management, Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, 1978. PhD Criminalogy and Criminal Justice, Missing Person Studies, University of Portsmouth, UK, 2023 Married September 1975, Three Children: Shanda born 1980, Evan born 1982 and Kathryn born 1985. Four Grandchildren: Issac born 2015, Emilia born 2018, Quinn born 2019 and Emmett born 2022. Current Vocation: Retired Senior Project Manger for Swinerton Builders a large commercial contractor in San Francisco building projects mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area, responsible for overall management of multi-million dollar commercial, high rise, hospital, educational, retail and hotel projects Current Avocation: An active member in the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team since 1981. Been involved in the management of many lost and missing person incidents throughout the bay area and elsewhere in California. Have been the past Captain of the team and currently serves as chairman of the Bay Area Search and Rescue Council (BASARC). Also teach search and search management for the State of California Office of Emergency Services as well as specialized topics in Search Management throughout the United States, Canada, Iceland, Norway and New Zealand. In addition I co-authored a book entitled “Urban Search – Managing Missing Person Searches in the Urban Environment”,published 2007 and authored "Intelligent Search - Managing the Intelligece Process in the Search for Missing Persons" published 2022. And, I am a Level 1 law enforcement reserve with the Sheriff’s Dept and the City of Danville and an EMT 1. My Oldest daughter now works for the Contra Costa Co Heath Department and our youngest is a nurse. My son is a Director for Amazon. |
