Laura Lee Phillips, 33, of 3012 S.W. 18th St. died of breast cancer Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Federated Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips, an account manager for Procter & Gamble, was born in Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore; two sons, Nathan and Brian, both of Des Moines; her father, Kenneth Whitehead, and her mother and stepfather, Joan and Jim Janes, all of West Des Moines; a brother, Kenneth Whitehead II of Des Moines; and two sisters, Diana Prendergast of Des Moines and Juliana Meyers of San Diego.

Paul H. Whitfield passed away at home on October 18, 2017. Paul was born August 20, 1960 In Des Moines IA to Charlie and Betty Whitfield. He was the second of six children, and the oldest son.
Paul was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He was a skilled welder and brilliant at figuring things out and making them work. He loved the outdoors—boating, water skiing, hunting and fishing. Paul worked at Ryko Manufacturing for over 25 years, and most recently at Quality Manufacturing.
