February 9, 1982 - January 28, 2017
On a beautiful, sunny, Florida morning this 28th of January, the Lord our God took the hand of Spencer David Johnson and carried him to heaven. After a four month hard fought battle with cancer, Spence's heart could stand the strain no more. He leaves behind his beautiful wife Lana (Nofziger) and two very precious children, Penny and Finn.
Born in Enid Oklahoma (Vance AFB), he moved to Scott AFB, outside of St. Louis, MO, in the fall of his first year. He quickly became a Cardinals fan and grew up loving baseball. Settling then in Minnesota, he attended Eagan high school where he lettered in baseball. After undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota Mankato, he attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic.
He married Lana Nofziger on May 25, 2008 and moved to Archbold, Ohio in 2010 where they opened their own practice. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Archbold Chamber of Commerce.
Spence loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, & hiking to name a few. He loved music of all kinds, and enjoyed playing along on his guitar. Most of all, he cherished time spent with family and friends. He was always up for a good time and was known to bring levity and laughter to every occasion. He was easygoing, loving, and hardworking until the very end.
He leaves behind his parents George "Bud" Johnson and Julie Johnson (Swenson), his brother Jeremy Johnson and sister-in-law Tara Johnson (Friehe), nephew Parker and niece Piper, grandparents Robert and Carol Swenson and Carol Johnson. In-laws Steve "Farmer" Nofziger and Julia Nofziger (Wyse), Alex and Lindsey Ames (Nofziger), nieces Tess, Meg and Kit; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
