Gale went to Canada for a year after graduation, then joined the Navy where he served on a submarine during the Viet Nam war. He lived in Commerce City before moving to Hotchkiss and working for Phil's Auto. In 2007 he moved to Crawford and started his own small engine business "Git R To Run". He was an automotive wizard. 

He passed from bladder cancer in January of 2022. He is survived by his wife, Shauna who remains in Crawford CO.
