DARRELL CANALES OBITUARY
Harlingen, TX - Darrell Arnulfo Canales, 46, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Harlingen Medical Center. He was born on October 10th, 1970 in Weslaco, Texas to Luis and Mary Ann Reyes Canales. He attended Harlingen school district schools and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1989. He was a three year varsity letterman starting his last two years on the offensive line. He was honorable mention both his junior and senior years at left offensive tackle.
He graduated from Texas State Technical College with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. He was a Chef in several upscale restaurants in the San Antonio area. After moving back to Harlingen he worked in different places of business ranging from management to catering. He truly loved to cook.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Luis and Mary Ann Canales; brother Luis A. Canales ( Priscilla ); sister Laura Ann Rhinehart ( Larry ); his twin nieces Joela A. and Leila A. Canales; and his nephews Lucas A. Canales and Dominic A. Rhinehart; grandmother, Constancia Canales; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Las Rusias Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 E. Harrison Ave., Harlingen, TX 78550.
