I transferred into Hopkins High School from Minneapolis on the first day of my senior year, so I didn't really get to know too many people. I hope you remember me. I was, and still am, that skinny guy. =========================== I attended my very first high school reunion for the 50th year celebration of the Class of 1963 at The Marsh in Minnetonka on August 10, 2013. There was very good attendance and delicious food. This was a once in a lifetime event and I am glad I was able to go. =========================== I enjoyed going to the 51st class reunion at Tuttle's in Hopkins on Saturday, September 13, 2014. I’m sorry that Larry Helgerson was under the weather and unable to stay very long. Although I do not know most of my classmates, it is still good to meet and talk with them. ============================ I enjoyed seeing and meeting many of you for our 70th birthday party at Kip's Irish Pub & Restaurant in St. Louis Park on September 12, 2015. There was a good turnout. =========================== I attended the 55-year Class Reunion at the Elks Lodge in Hopkins on August 17, 2018. Although I didn’t know a lot of people, I enjoyed seeing everyone. I want to thank all the dedicated committee members who worked hard to bring us together. Thank you Verna and Committee Members. I can’t say I am surprised that we will be unable to celebrate our 75th birthdays, but I am glad that we won’t be putting ourselves in harms way. It shows that our generation is acting more responsibly to a very unfortunate situation. My parents, like many of yours, were born into the pandemic of 1918 with fewer resources to contend with the situation. I wish they were alive today so I could ask them how did they manage. I appreciate very much what you all have done to bring us together over the past years. I turned 75 today and I will be “celebrating” alone with a frozen pizza and a bottle of Corona Extra. But there is no rule we can’t celebrate another year, God willing we will still be around. I feel so blessed I am still here. So, until we meet again, thank you again for all you do. |
