James M. “Jamie” Hackworth, age 52, of Huntington, died at 4:09 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Marion General Hospital.

Jamie was born on April 4, 1967 in Huntington, the son of Hubert L. Hackworth and Susan K. (Clements) Wilson. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1985. He worked as the maintenance supervisor at Van Rooy Properties of Indianapolis for 20 years. Jamie was an avid drummer, having played at Riverview Middle School and Huntington North during his school years; he also played in many bands including The Eyes Band and Richter 9 with Danny and Jack Nine of Huntington.

Survivors include his mother, Susan K. Wilson of Fairmount, children Jonathon Hackworth, stationed in Iraq, US Army and Kalie Hackworth of Carmel, and a brother, Jan M. (Lisa) Hackworth of Huntington. He is preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, Jack “Sport” Wilson, a brother, Jeffrey M. Hackworth, and an uncle, Tom Clements.
