Bruce Edward Elton, 67, was born June 30, 1956 in St. Paul Minnesota, and passed August 25, 2023 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He joins his father and mother, Einar and Audrey Elton, in Heaven.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sherry Elton; children Brittany Elton and Royce Oyerly; grandchildren Jaxon, Bryce, Mia and Delaney; brothers Dennis, Tom (Patty), Jim (Michelle); sister Anne, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 2004, where he retired as an AMH Chief Petty Officer in the E2 community. During his service, he received over 35 decorations, medals and badges. These include 4 Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 4 Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medals, 2 Joint Meritorious Unit Awards, 3 Navy Unit Commendations, 2 Meritorious Unit Commendations, 2 Battle “E” Ribbons, 6 Good Conduct Medals, 2 Navy Expeditionary Medals, 2 National Defense Service Medals, 2 Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, 2 Armed Forces Service Medals, 6 Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, a NATO Medal, and a Kosovo Campaign Medal. He Served during Desert Storm and the Kosovo War, and was awarded Sailor of the Year in 1989.
