Classmates Now

The year was 1962. Jack and Jackie were in the White House, Elvis and Lawrence Welk were vying for supremacy on the radio. Kids were doing the twist. We know where you were, 1201 S. Warson Road. The question is where are you now and where will you be October 14 and 15, 2017? Here's the spot to blow your own horn. Tell us some of what's happened since you last updated your profile. Not too much. Don't be intimidated. If you can't think of anything you can always make it up. Who's to know! Just let us hear from you. Those of you who didn't create a profile for our 50th -- please do.

Comment: I have been retired from teaching and real estate for several years. I've always pursued my love of art and have been a ceramic artist for 30 years. Much of my time was also spent as an art museum docent in Palm Springs, Ca. Recently, I am a tour guide at Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's home and architectural school in Scottsdale. I was married for 26 yrs., have one son, one grandson, and lived in L.A. for 20 yrs. I have been remarried for 11 yrs., to a retired U.S. diplomat. Our passion for travel has taken us on trips all over the world, and I am so lucky to be able to do that. We currently reside in Scottsdale, and spend summers in Laguna, Ca. |

Comment: I retired 7 years ago after 36 years of work and 12 relocations. Time is now spent on several volunteer activities, spoiling 6 grandkids, golf and competitive rowing. I've also developed an aversion to cold weather and spend winters in Florida. 50 years??? Doesn't seem possible......... |

My husband, Tom and I have 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. We have a family band and get to see them weekly. We still like traveling; lately seeing National Parks. I wish we could attend the 55th reunion but had another trip planned at the same time. I hope everyone is healthy and happy and enjoying life. |

Having had a Scrapbooking Business, I know the importance of past memories. Loving Yoga, I believe in living in the present moment.Looking forward to the reunion, I look forward to combining both! |

Comment: In retirement I continue to work on the long-running book- writing project that has kept me busy for many years. Current status: 1800 pp. of manuscript divided into 9 volumes, mostly fiction rooted in St. Louis (and even to some extent Ladue). Title: "St. Louis Labrythinth". Completion Date: I wish I knew. Meanwhile, it keeps me busy and entertained. All the best to everyone on the occasion of our 50th. |

Comment: Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion My proudest achievement is being the mother of three LHS fellow graduates, Peter Oberheide, class of '88', Tom Oberheide, class of '93' and Matthew Korn, class of '99'. I am presently living in Sarasota, Fl. where I have had many jobs- and actually gotten paid- elementary school teacher, librarian, caterer, seamstress (thanks to Mrs. Wyatt), needlepoint and knitting instructor (although I'll never be as good a knitter a Mary Weinstock), reseacher at Edward Jones (Series 7 license), and occasional backup singer in my son's rock and roll band in Austin. Currently my most fun is spending time with my grandson Elliott Lewis Oberheide, who is 1.5 and lives in Golden, CO. I also like to read, walk, cook, stitch, and hit the speed bag. I am still painting custom needlepoint canvases and have recently started a business, "Drag Hag Rags", which costumes ddrag queens. My downfall is freecell on the computer. |

After graduating from the University of Evansville, I served with in the 25th Infantry in Chu Chi Viet Nam. Returned to Sears in their management program for 5 years. Having come to my senses we moved to sunny south Florida and eventually joined Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor. I am still with them after 32 years and loving every minute of it. I have been married to my college sweetheart, Pam for 43 years. I am an avid saltwater angler. Pam and I love to travel. We are getting all the adventurous places off our bucket list while we are still young: China, Machu Piccu, Galapagos Islands, Viet Nam after 39 years, Cambodia, Nepal & Tibet including Mt Everest and more. Looking forward to you at our 50th.
