Classmates Now

The year was 1962.  Jack and Jackie were in the White House, Elvis and Lawrence Welk were vying for supremacy on the radio.  Kids were doing the twist. We know where you were, 1201 S. Warson Road.  The question is where are you now and where will you be October 14 and 15, 2017?  Here's the spot to blow your own horn.  Tell us some of what's happened since you last updated your profile.  Not too much.  Don't be intimidated.  If you can't think of anything you can always make it up.  Who's to know!  Just let us hear from you.  Those of you who didn't create a profile for our 50th -- please do.

My husband Joe and I have been married for 47 years and we have two daughters and four grandchildren. Before children I taught school for five years and most recently I taught pre-kindergarten children.  My husband Joe’s work took us to St. Louis, Pensacola Florida, Dayton Ohio and Knoxville Tennessee.   We are now retired in Knoxville and are spending our winters in a retirement community in Melbourne Beach Florida. We are enjoying more time with our children/grandchildren, traveling and being a part of our East Tennessee and Florida communities. I look forward to seeing all of my old friends at the reunion.

Comment: I spent only one year at Ladue -- 7th grade -- but have great affection for my classmates there, many of whom I knew in grades 4-6 at Ladue elementary school. Jerome Silbergeld and I both live in Princeton, NJ and our families see one another frequently. I had hoped to attend the Reunion, but my wife's own 50th reunion of her Valparaiso, Ind. high school class is that same weekend, so it looks like I cannot make it .. Very sorry that's the case.

  •  My history is long, but mostly I worked for Venture Stores as an administrative assistant for the Womens Buyers, soon to become a buyer myself, but tey shutdown before that happened.

  • After that I worked for several other companies closed and then worked for World Omni for 6 years, and Retired in 2006.

Before and after Retirement I kept busy Volunteering at the childrens schools.  I was also one of the founding members of our Synogogue out here in St Peters, Mo.  I directed Sunday School and taught Hebrew school for several years and on the Board for many years.  For fun Paul and have been on a Royal Carribean Cruise, Branson,  Tunica,Ms, Calif. visiting family and friends, and Colorado.

We love going out with friends and family here as much as we can.

So sorry this is so long, but 55 years is long.  Our last Reunion was the 15th that myself, Letha Speed, and Millie Gluskoter who are both with G-d., helped plan.

A few additional thoughts: "Rules to live by"

Rudy and I have been married for 47 years.  We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.  We spend most of the year in Florida attempting to play tennis and golf!!!  We come back in the  summer to visit friends and relatives.  Life has taught me to enjoy where I am!  I can't go back and I'm not sure what lies ahead so I will enjoy today!

Madeleine Kreysar (Felder)

Comment:  After living with my dad for 6 years back on Tamarack Drive, I sold the house in October & am now enjoying the homeless life, wandering from child to child & country to country.  I've traveled back & forth between Son 1 and Son 2, from Ft. Lauderdale to Redmond, WA.  In March I'll visit my Israeli sister for 3 months, then on to my daughter in Zurich (know any eligible bachelors there?) for a couple of weeks, & then a reunion my 3 kids planned for Italy, 4 grandchildren included.  I feel like such a reprobate, enjoying life so much!  The reunion will be my first trip back to St. Louis, & I'm looking forward to seeing it and all of my classmates!
