Classmates Now

The year was 1962. Jack and Jackie were in the White House, Elvis and Lawrence Welk were vying for supremacy on the radio. Kids were doing the twist. We know where you were, 1201 S. Warson Road. The question is where are you now and where will you be October 14 and 15, 2017? Here's the spot to blow your own horn. Tell us some of what's happened since you last updated your profile. Not too much. Don't be intimidated. If you can't think of anything you can always make it up. Who's to know! Just let us hear from you. Those of you who didn't create a profile for our 50th -- please do.

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. degree in Education and taught for St. Louis County Special School District for 7 years. I did graduate work at Boston University and completed a Masters' Degree at UMSL. I also supervised student teachers for a short time. I have been married to Jerry Seslen (Clayton H.S.) a CPA for nearly 40 years. We have one married daughter (Ph.D. in Economics from MIT), a college professor who just moved with her family from Los Angeles to Seattle, Washington. We also have 2 grandaughters. One is 4 years old and the newest is nearly 2 weeks old. We've always lived in St. Louis. I'm a homemaker/volunteer and enjoy travel, reading, and gardening. |

Comment: Do we just look different, or are we really as changed as we appear? I loved our last reunion, where everyone had tales to tell, had ventured forth and used our many talents, seemed to have become wiser and gentler, but (once the name tags had served their purpose) still seemed to be pretty much the same people we had once shared so much of our lives with in the rooms and hallways and sports fields on Warson Road. Looking backward and forward at the same time to the coming events (again, with big name tags) -- with thanks to all our hard-working reunion organizers. |

Comment: After Ladue, I attended Missouri School of Mines where I lettered three years as a starter on the varsity football team, was a charter member of the rugby club, a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, obtained a degree in mechanical engineering and a masters degree in engineering management. My working career was primarily in power plant design and construction with projects both in the US and worldwide. I also was a Captain in the US Army Reserves. My wife, 'lish, was a graduate of Lindenwood College and was a high school history teacher. Our daughter, Robin, lives in Leesburg, Virginia, and our son, Stephen, lives in Oathe, Kansas. We have six granddaughters. Late in life, my wife was diagnosed with MS and I am her full time caregiver. However, we do live on the third hole of a championship golf course and I do get to play alot. We are not able to travel easily, but we do welcome visitors. If ever in Denver, look us up! |

Have been happily married for 42 years. We are now primarily residing in Florida. Enjoy fishing and playing golf with my 2 sons and 2 grandsons that reside in Florida. Our daughter is a teacher in Eureka High School. We still maintain our Chesterfield residence and my primary office is located in Chesterfield. Our company, KidGuard Insurance, provides athletic insurance for high school and college sports teams. |

Comment: 50 years and it's true - all roads lead back to St. Louis! My husband can't believe that I still know people I went to nursery school with. After college I was a special education teacher in New York, Boston, and Washington DC where I've lived for 40 years. I've been married to John for 41 years and we have three children one grandson, one Basset Hound, and one Lab. I had so much fun finding (stalking!) old classmates and talking to people I haven't seen in many years. I'm looking forward to the reunion. Unfortunately, unlike Rich Weinstock, my high school clothes don't fit! |

Comment: My wife (Joan Osiek, class of 60) and I are long time residents of New Hampshire. We have two sons and six grandchildren. I retired in 1997 from the computer industry, and my sons have followed in my footsteps so to speak, one in hardware design and the other in software design. Joan and I enjoy travel, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, and gardening. I also play a lot of pool, and enjoy making sculptures out of wood, metal, and rock with electronics buried inside. Although our favorite hiking is in the West, we maintain three trails here in NH which we hope some of you will one day get a chance to hike. |

I have been working for my sister and brother in law, helping them out at Arundale Products, selling bird feeders for a long time now. I have seen my nieces and nephew grow up to be wonderful, sweet loving people. The oldest Louise, is a nanny in Chicago while also attending DePaul University studying Community Counseling. Julia is attending Webster University studying nutrition and education. William, her twin, is studying political science at the University of Chicago. More recently I have been spending more time caring for my God Mother who is now 101 years old! Last year, I helped throw her a grand birthday party for the big 100. I've been traveling to Atlanta, Georgia recently to visit my good friend Paige. While there I visited the Coca- Cola company, Stone Mountain, and many other places like their Botancal Gardens. Thinking back, I have many fond memories of high school. One of which is spending time with my close friends as well as going to my favorite Algebra class wth Mrs Carol. She was nice and always helped me, making my time at school more enjoyable. |

Comment: We won't be there this year since Jerry broke is leg and his nose, but hope to see you all soon at the next reunion. My mom is now 95 and going strong in Assisted Living. Hope to get to St. Louis when our life gets back to normal, but ntil then, I'd love to hear from anyone via email or the telephone. |
