Brother Norman Lewis Mayfield was born August 16, 1907 in Vienna, Louisiana, to the union of Mr. Nelson and Gertrude Lewis Mayfield. He departed this life June 12, 1989.
Brother Mayfield became a member of the Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend W. M. Kilgreas Church where he served as an usher with dignity until ill health intervened.

The dignified, quiet and Godly manner in the life of Brother Mayfield somehow attracted many people to him, and his conscientious and diligent service as a Christian won many friends from people of all walks of life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a quiet, peaceful neighbor.

Brother Mayfield lived in Lawton, Oklahoma for eight months. During this time, he attended the St. John’s Baptist Church with his daughter. During his illness and death, the St. John’s Church Family was supportive, under the leadership of Reverend J. L. Davenport.
