Melvin Green

Melvin Fredrick Green Jr. was called home on April 23 , 2016. He was born in Fort Morgan, CO to Melvin and Shirley Green on November 14 , 1954. He was the third of four children born in to this family. He was born and raised in Fort Morgan attending elementary school before the family relocated to Wheat ridge, CO and ultimately settling in Loveland, CO in 1965. He was a graduate of Loveland High School in 1972, and a graduate of UNC with a degree with business management. "Mel", "Brother", or "Jr." what anyone knew him as, or called him by their favorite nickname, you would know his sharp witted bantering was just a breath away. His humor could be sarcastic but he loved when people laughed. He loved to talk politics and would gladly debate the issues with strong convections. He was perceived to have a "standoffish" demeanor, but the real Mel was gregarious, quick witted and love laughter. He was an avid Bronco fan and every Sunday before kickoff he would text his sister with his prediction. He followed all sports especially golf. He was an avid golfer until his declining health made him a spectator. He is survived by his mother Shirley of Fort Collins, Sister Barb (Phil) Medina of Phoenix Az., Brother Merlin (Chery) of Greely, CO., Nephew Rob Compher of Phoenix AZ., Niece Melissa (Dave) Richie of Colorado Springs, CO., Nephew Michael (Ashley) Green of Greeley, CO., Niece Carolann Green of Durango, CO., Uncle Keith Williams of Fort Morgan, CO, Aunt Bert Williams of Fort Morgan, CO., and numerous cousins. He was proceeded in death by his father Melvin and his eldest sister Sue. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the Diabetes foundation or the Cancer Society.
