
Darwin King
Darwin Dean King, age 64, died July 16, 2018 of complications related to frontotemporal dementia at his home in Birmingham, Alabama. Darwin is survived by his wife Cheryl King, daughters Gwendalyn and Bethany King, and grandchildren Lilly, Gavin, Peyton, and Briella. He is preceded in death by his parents Cleave and Nellie King and brother Dennis King. Darwin was born in Clarinda, Iowa. He moved to Loveland in junior high and graduated from Loveland High School in 1972. He attended the Colorado School of Mines on a full ride academic scholarship and earned his B.S in Metallurgical Engineering in 1976. During his career Darwin worked for Rocky Flats Nuclear Facility, several high tech computer manufacturing companies, and later owned his own business. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Colorado School of Mines Foundation to the Metallurgical & Materials Engineering Department in memory of Darwin King (giving.mines.edu). A memorial service will be held July 21, 2018 in Birmingham, AL. Published by Loveland Reporter-Herald on Jul. 21, 2018.
Darwin and had many good times. We were tennis partners. We went to State our Junior and Senior years. Darwin was a very good player. I will always consider Darwin one of my best friends. You brought so many wonderful memories into my life. You are definitely missed. Rest In Peace my friend ❤
