Veteran's Expeditions fundraiser workout
Join us Saturday, November 11th for an outoor "Manic Expedition" as we stage a 2 hour team-based workout in honor of our nation's many veterans, and raise money to support Colorado born "Veteran's Expeditions", AKA "Vet Ex".
VetEx is a veteran-run, veteran-led non-profit that uses wilderness challenges to connect veterans, create
community, build self-esteem and raise awareness about the issues facing veterans as they transition
back to civilian life. VetEx has served over 2,000 veterans on over 500 trips that
include short snowshoes, multi-day river trips, ice-climbing outings and serious expeditions
including climbs of Mt. Rainier and a successful summit of Denali, NorthAmerica's highest peak.
We know, and research supports, that outdoor adventure is therapeutic and helpful in helping
veterans successfully transition from military service to civilian life.
VetEx facilitates trust and camaraderie. Participants in our programs challenge themselves and push beyond what other people tell them about how their bodies and minds work after combat. Time outdoors working with others to achieve a common goal, helps veterans realize they
have value and a significant role in society. VetEx experiences also create bonds with peers, resulting in
a long-term support system they can rely on in times of trouble or struggle.
Last year the Manic Training VetEx fundraiser raised over $3,000. This money went directly to getting veterans outdoors and on trips, including a Browns Canyon rafting trip, fly fishing in Alaska and ice climbing in Ouray. This year we plan to utilize the money for more great rock and ice climbing trips, mountaineering trips and mountain bike adventures.
We really appreciate your support at this awesome event put on by Manic Training Highlands Ranch! Your help is very much appreciated!
We are putting together teams of 3-5 people, with a suggested fundraising goal of $100 per participant. Please join us, and many others in the Manic Training community, in honor of our nation's veterans. All are welcome, including those not currently involved in Manic Training.
Non-Manic members are welcome to join in the workout. Cost - $30.
ALL proceeds will go directly to Veteran's Expeditions for their continued service to our veterans.
